Chicago O'Hare / ORD Priority Pass lounge review - Swissport lounge (2024)

As we prepared for our flight to Reykjavik, we had a few hours to wait, so we decided to wait in an ORD Priority Pass lounge. There are actually two different Chicago ORD Priority Pass lounges, both in Terminal 5 (the International terminal).

Can you visit the ORD Priority Pass lounges from the domestic terminals?

This is a huge YMMV as you have a few options. There is in theory an airside transportation link between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5 at Chicago O’Hare airport, but when we were there, it was out of service, and so you had to transit terminals via landside bus. In order to visit the ORD Priority Pass lounge from one of the other terminals, you’ll need to be able to access Terminal 5, so you’ll either need a T5 boarding pass, be able to access the airside transit bus if it’s working, or be able to convince the security at T5 to let you in in order to access theORD Priority Pass Swissport Lounge.

Chicago O’Hare ORD Priority Pass lounge location and access

The Swissport lounge which is one of the 2 ORD Priority Pass lounge locations, is located between gates M7 and M8 in Terminal 5. Note that the Swissport lounge (accessible by Priority Pass) is NOT the same as the Swiss Airlines lounge, which is located outside gate M10. When you pass through security in the ORD airport Terminal 5, head to the right and then you will shortly see this sign to your right

In addition to being the ORD Priority Pass lounge, the Swissport lounge serves premium cabin passengers from Hainan Airlines and Turkish Airlines. You can also buy a day pass to the Swissport lounge for USD$40, which I would heartily encourage you NOT to do 🙂

The Chicago ORD Swissport lounge hours are from 12:00pm to 9:30pm

There are 2 single-person restrooms inside the Chicago ORD Priority Pass Swissport lounge, both located near the entrance door.

There is also wifi available, and a quick Internet speed test indicated that the Chicago O’Hare ORD Priority Pass lounge wifi was adequate.

Swissport ORD Priority Pass lounge food and drink

The food and drink selections at the ORD Swissport Priority Pass lounge were pretty basic. There was a minifridge with a variety of water, soft drinks and beer.

There was a basic selection of crackers and cheese. I was told that the blank area to the left of the picture below was for fruit, but as you can see, it was empty when we visited.

The Swissport ORD Priority Pass lounge has a variety of snacks and other alcohol as well

The Swissport lounge is a very basic ORD Priority Pass lounge and I would recommend that you instead visit the Chicago O’Hare Air France lounge across the hall if they are allowing entrance to Priority Pass members.

I tried twice to access ORD Air France lounge and every time I was denied access because of “reached priority pass customers limit” and they are not allowing PP card holders in… Contacted PP and got response that each lounge can decline access anytime. Anyway, one time i got in AF lounge its not much different from Swissport lounge. ORD needs some restaurant options for PP holders…

I flew Turkish business class and was sad that this was the lounge I had access to… and it was PACKED when we were there. I really wish ORD had better PP lounges 🙁

Yeah it’s pretty weak. I guess it’s better than being out in the terminal (barely?)

You can’t say it’s a business class lounge. More like priority pass would be correct. Turkish should use a different lounge for it’s business class. I was there on Turkish business, the toilets were dirty and nothing special stands out on this lounge. The only advantage was some privacy at a busy international terminal, but could be compromised if the lounge is full. If you are on Turkish I would arrive early, go to Polaris lounge at the C terminal. Then leave it at the hour mark towards the international terminal.

I am 1 for 2 on getting into the lounge. The failed attempt was because security would not let me through.

It is hard to believe that there is NO PP lounges in the domestic area of O’Hare.

O’Hare was my home base for many years and getting from one terminal to the next is relatively easy on the tram. In all my years travelling, I never found it not working. While O’Hare is not as modern as DFW or SEA, it is relatively easy to navigate, albeit large.

the worst attention, the woman who works there is a rude woman, even when the room is empty she refuses to give us the service, 4 times that we have tried to enter she rejects us without justification.

I imagine that the owner of this lounge must also be a person who discriminates.

Finally was allowed in the Swiss “lounge.” Pathetic!! Cheese crackers and bottled drinks. Attendant was by herself and rude to everyone. The Priority lounge compared to the Delta Skyclubs is like comparing Longhorns steak house to Capital Grill. Very disappointing.
