What does the Forlorn Maiden do in FFXIV? ›

When doing any FATE in any Stormblood Area there is a small chance that a Forlorn Maiden will spawn while the FATE is progressing. If the Maiden is killed before the FATE is complete you will get the Twist of Fate buff for a 50% XP Bonus on your next FATE if the current FATE is completed.

In any FATE starting in Stormblood, a Forlorn Maiden can appear. Killing it will give you a 50% XP boost to the next FATE you do. Rarely, a Forlorn will appear. Killing THIS is a *250%* XP boost to the next FATE you do.

Players under the effect of the Twist of Fate status will receive increased EXP rewards upon completing any FATE. Players will be granted the Twist of Fate status even if the FATE ends in failure, and likewise will the effects of this status apply during a failure.

FATE (Full Active Time Event) battles are encounters on the map that happen every so often, and allow players to get extra experience and other bonuses by helping out. Most FATEs will require players to do battle with large groups of enemies, or fight one extremely powerful enemy.
