Kubota has added the new Z412KW and Z422KW models to its Z400 Series of zero-turn mowers designed for commercial landscapers and residential users, doubling the lineup to four models. Available at Kubota dealerships, the 22-horsepower (16.4-kilowatt) Z412KW comes with a 48-inch (122-centimeter) deck, while the 24-HP (18-kW) Z422KW provides a 54- or 60-in. (137.2- or 152.4-cm) deck. Across the entire series, Kubota says it updated various components and features to enhance the mowers’ performance, durability, and operator comfort.
An Impressive Feature Set
The Z400 Series also includes the 22-HP Z411KW and 24-HP Z421KW. All four Z400 Series mowers have a 6.8-gallon (25.7-liter) fuel tank and use Kawasaki gas engines and an exclusive Hydro-Gear ZT-3600 transmission. Comfort-minded upgrades include new 6.5-in. (16.5-cm)-wide pneumatic front caster tires that Kubota says soak up bumps and minimize turf damage, and a deluxe adjustable suspension seat with 3 in. (7.6 cm) of travel that’s designed to reduce operator fatigue. All Z400 Series models come standard with 24-in. (61-cm)-wide rear tires, cupholders, ergonomic controls, and a 12-volt charging port.
Kubota Senior Turf Product Manager Tom Vachal says Kubota originally introduced the Z400 Series as a response to market demand for an affordable commercial mower packing features a professional landscaper would want. “The new models build on the already impressive set of features and add more to enhance the overall comfort and mowing experience of the machines,” he says. “We’re proud to say we’ve made improvements to an already impressive, affordable line of mowers, with nominal increases in cost.”
