What are apple fries?

Apple fries are super simple, and they sound exactly like what they are. Instead of potato fries, the fries are made of apples. They are lightly coated, usually with cinnamon and sugar, and deep fried to get that classic fry taste. They will soon become one of your favorite types of fries (who knew there were so many fry options!?).

Are apple fries gluten free?

Apple fries are gluten free! This recipe doesn’t have anything in it that contains gluten, so this is a perfect recipe for those of you who are gluten intolerant.

One word of caution, is that while cornstarch is gluten free, sometimes the factories where cornstarch is processed also processes gluten, so just be careful about the cornstarch you are using!

Also, you can add ice cream and caramel sauce to compliment the cinnamon sugar apple fries, but this will cause your apple fries to become lactose tolerant. For those that are not lactose friendly, just serve the apple fries without ice cream, and you are good to go!

How to cut apple fries?

Cutting apples into fries is very simple. All you have to do is peel the apples and then slice it into a rectangular shape. If you happen to have a French fry cutter, you can cut your apple that way as well. But don’t stress about trying to get your apples into the “prefect” fry shape. Even if your fries don’t look like fries, they will still taste amazing! Speaking of amazing fries, let me recommend you to a copycat recipe that I love to make from time to time.
