The Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during high school sports competition and recognizes athletes across all sports.

High school sports: 2022-23 Athletes of the week
Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven't won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once.

Here are this week'sAthlete of the Week candidates:
Sean Callahan, Groveport-Madison track and field: Took first in the 100m dash with a time of 10.79 at the Stingel Invitational. Also anchored the winning 4x100 relay and broke the school record in the 200m dash with a time of 21.76. At the New Albany Invitational, he won the 100m dash with a time of 10.82, anchored the 4x100 relay that set a school record with a time of 42.28 and won the 200m dash in 21.56, breaking the school record he set previously and is No. 1 in the state.
Daniel Edwards, Lancaster track and field: Set a school record in the pole vault of 16 feet, 4.75 inches. That height would have won the Division I state championship last year by almost a foot and the other two divisions by several inches. He also won the long jump (21-10) and pole vault (16-0) in the Joe Lenge Classic.
Chesnee Fairall, Centerburg softball: Hit five home runs in four games, with 10 RBIs, and threw out three runners trying to steal second. In her past eight games, she has six homers, a .548 batting average, 17 hits, 14 RBIs, and four thrown out stealing.
Bryar Householder, East Knox baseball: Pitched a perfect game in a 10-0 win over Centerburg. In a 12-2 win over Northmor, he struck out 10 in six innings and went 3 for 3 with a double, RBI, two steals and three runs.
Brooke Nelson, Newark softball: Had a solo homer, two doubles and a single with five RBIs in a 11-2 win over Reynoldsburg.
Katie Niven, Thomas Worthington softball: Went 8 for 10 in a doubleheader sweep. For the week, she batted .700 with an OPS of 1.614, seven runs, five RBIs, two steals and struck out 17 in 13 innings pitched.
Olivia Pace, Westerville Central track and field: Topped her school records in winning the 100 (11.69) and 200 meters (24.44) in the New Albany Invitational.
Owen Poole, Newark baseball: Struck out 11 in a two-hitter during a 4-2 victory over Reynoldsburg.
Josh Richardson, New Albany track and field: Is ranked No. 1 in the state in the high jump with a high of 6-9. He finished fourth at indoor states and was seventh at the Nike Nationals in March.
Nick Robinson, Olentangy Orange track and field: Won the 200m at the Granville invitational with a time of 21.83, the seventh-best time in the state. Also won the 4x200m (1:31.18) and had a 4x400m split of 49 seconds.
Brendon Simcox, Lancaster track and field: Won the 110 (16.01) and 300-meter hurdles (40.16) in helping his team win the Joe Lenge Classic.
Audrey Szollosi, Upper Arlington softball: Hit .727, scored 11 times and stole 10 bases in five games.
Addie Triplett. Johnstown softball: Hit four home runs and drove in eight runs in a doubleheader sweep of Pickerington Central.
