  • 2 23 cups flour, all-purpose
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, light packed
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon liqueur or 1 teaspoon extract, banana flavor
  • 34 cup ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

  • Preheat oven to 300°F
  • In a medium bowl, combine four, soda and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  • In a large bowl with an electric mixer, blend sugars at medium speed. Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add egg, liqueur and banana, and beat at medium speed until smooth. Add flour mixture, 1 cup of the chocolate chips and walnuts, and blend at low speed until just combined.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
  • Sprinkle cookies with chocolate chips, 6 to 8 per cookie.
  • Bake 25-27 minutes until cookie edges begin to brown.
  • Transfer immediately to a cool surface.

  1. These are really good! Great way to use up those ripe bananas!! I used chopped pecans and dark chocolate chips (that was what I had on hand). I also used pure vanilla extract in place of the banana flavoring that I didn't have. This recipe is a keeper!!!

  3. This are really moist and good! Made for a playdate with some friends and all the kids (and moms) ate them up. I left out the nuts because one of the kids has a tree-nut allergy, and DS was helping me make these and got excited about dumping the choco chips and put all 2 cups in the mix. Made for Photo Tag.

  4. I made these last year. A girl from work brought in a Mrs. Fields Cookie book and we all picked out cookies to bake. I took on this receipe. Everyone loved it SO much that they all want me to bake some this year. <br/>The funny thing was that a different lady at work had decided to take the receipe and try to do it better, W/o chocolate chips......She brought them the very next day, and they weren't near as good as mine. :D

  5. Great cookies with excellent banana flavor. Ended up with a total of 40, with 10 made from chopped pecans, because I ran out of walnuts. Other than that I made recipe as posted.Made for PRMR TAG.

This site used to be awesome. It was at the top of its game when it was called Recipezaar, but that was many years ago. The site was purchased by Scripps and belly-flopped into mediocrity. A few of the faithful members remained, hoping to wait out the storm of corporate nonsense. But alas, it never got better and just continued on its terminal path to nothingness. So most of the loyal members have vanished and made homes at better recipe sites.
